What Makes Prime Colostrum Unique?
Colostrum, or the “elixir of life,” is the milk produced and secreted by mothers during the first few days after giving birth. It has a short lifespan, lasting only 24-48 hours before turning into mature milk. Most of the bioactive properties within colostrum are higher in concentration than those found in mature milk, meaning it not only offers substantially more health benefits for humans but also helps support one’s overall well-being and promotes a healthy immune system.
Prime Colostrum with Lion’s Mane is a non-GMO, gluten-free formula that pairs colostrum with Lion’s Mane mushrooms, both of which are recognized as powerful superfoods that have been studied for their immune supporting qualities as well as stress support. Prime Colostrum delivers 1 g of apple-flavored, bovine-derived colostrum powder containing 300 mg of immunoglobulins (IgG) and 1.25 g of Lion’s Mane mushroom per serving. The pristine reputation of colostrum and the mindful Lion’s Mane mushroom create a powerful combination for supporting a healthy immune system by bringing both gut and cognitive health benefits together, ultimately promoting gut-brain communication and a youthful metabolism.
IMMUNE & COGNITIVE SUPPORT
Colostrum is widely recognized for its immune-supporting properties, particularly in newborns; it is packed with over 250 bioactive compounds and around 50 polypeptides that makeup various growth factors. These growth factors aid in healthy muscle growth, bone growth, gut health and gut barrier function. Those components all contribute to one’s overall well-being and help sustain a healthy immune system. Like Colostrum, Lion’s Mane mushroom, often called the “brainiac mushroom,” is regarded for its potential to support cognitive health, immune health and act as an adaptogen by supporting the body's perception of stress.
Lion’s Mane contains two unique compounds, hericenones and erinacines, which are responsible for its impact on cognitive health: Lion’s Mane promotes the synthesis of peptides critical for memory, focus and alertness. A study analyzing 14 different mushroom species and their antioxidant activity ranked Lion’s Mane mushroom as fourth among others, demonstrating its potential for helping combat oxidative stress and promote immune health. Lion’s Mane also promotes the activity of nerve growth factor (NFG), a specific protein that is important for cognitive functioning. Participants who supplemented with 350 mg of Lion’s Mane three times per day, for 49 weeks, reported changes in a cognitive assessment measuring six areas of cognition (orientation, registration, attention, calculation, recall and language) in comparison to the placebo group.
REINFORCING GUT HEALTH
A balanced gut has ripple effects across the body, influencing the brain, immune system and metabolism. In addition to its immune-supporting benefits, colostrum also contains various enzymes and proteins (such as casein that works to promote GI health), as well as growth factors that support healthy cell repair and tissue growth. This discovery has led to various human studies that shed light on the use of bovine colostrum for supporting performance in connection to gut health. This includes changes in GI health impacted by strenuous exercise as well as GI health in relation to promoting the integrity of mucosal barriers and maintaining healthy intestinal permeability.
Highly active athletes have been shown to be more susceptible to increased intestinal permeability caused by an increase in internal body temperature, leading to intestinal imbalances. A double-blind study, in which athletes supplemented with 500 mg of bovine colostrum twice a day for 20 days, found that 75% of those who supplemented with colostrum showed changes in intestinal permeability; this suggests colostrum supplementation may help maintain healthy intestinal permeability in athletes. Another two-week study on highly active athletes who supplemented with bovine colostrum also found that colostrum helped maintain the homeostasis of the gut.
Together, the renowned reputation of colostrum and the mindful Lion’s Mane mushroom create a perfect blend for supporting immune health. Mix this delicious apple-flavored powder into water or your favorite cold beverage.
A superior supplement delivering the superfood duo of colostrum and Lion’s Mane mushrooms, where gut and cognitive health meet to create immune health support.

Key Ingredients
Colostrum (Bovine Colostrum Powder) 1000 mg
Colostrum, or “first milk,” is the milk produced during the first few days after birth and has been found to contain significantly higher levels of immunoglobulins, growth factors and peptides that are vital for supporting growth and development of neonates. Due to higher levels of immunoglobulins and casein, bovine colostrum also contains more protein than mature milk. In comparison to mature bovine milk, colostrum has higher levels of lactose. Lactose can supply the liver with glucose and galactose to support glycogen synthesis and storage. There are also fat-soluble, and water-soluble vitamins present in colostrum, which may play a role in various metabolic processes. Bovine colostrum (BC) is also a rich source of glycosylated proteins, which can act as prebiotics and positively impact the gut microbiome. Compared to mature bovine milk, colostrum also contains various essential minerals including calcium, copper, iron, zinc magnesium, manganese, and phosphorous. Another important component of BC are immunoglobulins, the primary one being IgG. The diverse components of bovine colostrum work together to promote growth and development and help maintain healthy gut growth and activity.
Lion’s Mane (Mushroom Powder) 1,250 mg
Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) is a mushroom popularly used in Chinese tradition and renowned for its various nutritional and culinary values. Lion’s Mane mushrooms, like other mushrooms, are regarded for their potential to support a healthy immune response and supports the body’s perception of stress. Unique however to Lion’s Mane are two compounds, hericenones and erinacines responsible for Lion’s Mane mushrooms’ impact on cognitive health. Lion’s Mane been shown to help modulate neurotransmitters associated with stress response. This mushroom also contains polysaccharides and bioactive compounds such as phenolic acids. Each of the constituents that make up Lion’s Mane have been reported to support immune health, but it is most studied for its benefits for promoting cognitive and neurological health.

FAQs
- What type of protein does colostrum contain?
The two primary types of protein in colostrum are whey protein and caseins, which both act as a source of energy. Casein, which is found in larger quantities in colostrum than whey protein, contains special proteins that aid in protein synthesis and growth factors that support cellular health and growth. Casein also contains polypeptides with antioxidant properties that help scavenge free radicals and support immune health. The concentration of casein is much higher in colostrum than in mature milk.
- Who should avoid using this product?
If you are vegetarian or vegan, you should not use this product. This product contains colostrum derived from bovine, which means it contains an animal-derived ingredient.
- Can you mix Prime Colostrum into food?
Mix the powder thoroughly in cool or room temperature liquids. This product may also be mixed into food such as yogurt, smoothies, apple sauce, etc. Avoid mixing with hot beverages or hot foods as heat can reduce colostrum’s bioactive components.
- Why does Prime Colostrum include Lion’s Mane in it?
Mushrooms have been used for centuries by many cultures based on the belief that they support important health functions. Mushrooms are popular for their naturally occurring antioxidants and other bioactive compounds that can affect multiple systems in the body, from supporting the nervous system to assisting digestion and immune function. Ancient Chinese culture strongly believed that mushrooms could help reach “qi” (i.e., overall balance of the body and its systems) to support the maintenance of the body’s “vital energy,” or what we know as the immune system.
- What are some of the major immune health properties within colostrum?
Immunoglobulins (IgG) and Lactoferrin are a few of the major immune health factors within colostrum. IgG colostrum works to support the gut lining, which is essential for immune function. A healthy gut barrier supports the body in efficiently utilizing nutrients from supplements like OPCs, curcumin, CoQ10, omegas and essential minerals, complementing the effectiveness of a well-rounded wellness regimen. Lactoferrin provides antioxidant support and supports the regulation of iron absorption within the gut.
- What is the difference between Prime Colostrum and Prime™ Secretagogue HGH Enhancer?
Prime Ultra Secretagogue also contains bovine colostrum within its proprietary blend (3.3 grams per serving), but its select ingredients aim toward maintaining healthy hormone production. While Prime Colostrum contains ingredients that help promote overall immune health with cognitive and gut health benefits, Prime Ultra Secretagogue HGH Enhancer works by helping to stimulate the pituitary gland to support the natural production of human growth hormone (HGH).
- What additional benefits does colostrum potentially provide for muscle health?
Evidence suggests that bovine colostrum supplementation could present benefits of lower body strength gain and bone-free lean body mass. The results from a study in which older adults supplemented with either colostrum or whey powder throughout an eight-week resistance training program demonstrated that bovine colostrum may present more benefits for lower body strength. Additionally, eight weeks of daily colostrum supplementation may promote bone-free lean body mass in active men and women.
- What makes something an adaptogen?
An adaptogen is a non-toxic substance that aids in the functioning of the body and its physiological responses in some way, such as the immune or digestive system. Overall, adaptogens help support the harmony of the body and its many systems that play into the overall immune system. They include various properties such as flavonoids (antioxidants), vitamins, prebiotics and polysaccharides that can help encourage the body to respond to different stressors in healthy ways.
